Senior Executive Consultant

An executive leader with more than 35 years of experience, Margaret’s career has focused on “social profit” organizations and their transformational growth, most recently with nationally recognized Blue Star Families where she was EVP.  Margaret has a life-long commitment to assisting organizations achieve greater capacity through strategic planning, communications, leadership-level philanthropy, as well as staff, volunteer, and donor engagement.

For nine years, Davis served as President and CEO of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation where she led the organization through annual record-setting years of mission and financial success taking the annual revenue budget from $6 million to $20 million and building an endowment of over $100 million.  Additional national organization leadership work, with hundreds of millions of dollars of impact, includes executive positions and/or consulting work with the National Children’s Museum, Washington National Cathedral, Arena Stage (DC), Princeton Symphony Orchestra, the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Shedd Aquarium (Chicago), Chicago Public Library Foundation, and Northwestern University. In Anne Arundel County, she’s worked or working with Historic Annapolis (chair, marketing and development committee), Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (President), Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum, Annapolis Dragon Boat Club (Strategic Plan Consultant), and Maryland Hall (transformational CEO).

A graduate of Mt. Holyoke College, Margaret lives her commitment to strengthening community.  She was recognized by the Department of the Navy with its Superior Public Service Medal (for decades of work with family support and readiness) and by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation with its Service Above Self award. Margaret’s happiest with her family, on a Pilates mat, or sailing the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Seaboard.
